Christie Wallace-Bergen
BROKER
After finishing a degree at Winthrop University in 2005, Christie made Savannah home. In 2007 she completed a Masters’ degree in Historic Preservation from SCAD. Her first job was in Commercial Construction, which she intended to be a long term career. Unfortunately, the 2009 recession ended those dreams and brief career in property management led to her real estate license in 2012.
Growing up in Hartsville, SC, her father was in the construction industry. She enjoyed visiting the historic homes with him and seeing their restoration first hand. Christie’s parents were constantly working on a project at home. They were the original “flippers” before it was a thing. She completed her first flip in 2013. Consequently, she has always enjoyed walking into a house for sale with her buyers and helping them envision what can be done.
Christie spent 6 years as the top agent at a large firm in Savannah. In 2020 Christie attained her brokers license. While mentoring several agents through her career and finding that role fulfilling she decidedto to start her own brand. Eventually, she teamed up with long time friend and colleague, Jonathan Haley and her husband and fellow Realtor and husband, Patrick Bergen to create Salt Marsh Realty
Christie plays competitive tennis in the Savannah Tennis League. She enjoys charity golf tournaments for various local non profits, and watching Clemson football. She is a past board member of the Savannah Tree foundation. In 2020 she won runner up in the Woman of the Year campaign for Leukemia Lymphoma Society. In 2007 she became one of Savannah Business Journal 40 under 40 at just 25 years old.
